Gnosis is the ability of the brain to recognize previously learned information such as objects, persons, or places collected from our senses. Thanks to this ability, we can recognize the voice of a relative, identify an object by touch or recognize a flavor by taste. Can you imagine seeing the face of a close relative and not being able to recognize it? Or what it would be like to touch a common object like a cup and being unable to identify it with closed eyes? These cognitive stimulation worksheets to train gnosis developed by NeuronUP are aimed at treating gnostic difficulties.
Cognitive stimulation worksheets to improve gnosis:
Even when we cannot always see a whole object, we are nevertheless able to recognize it by seeing one of its significant parts. If a patient has difficulties in achieving this, the next cognitive stimulation worksheet to train visual gnosis will be useful.
- Identifying Colors
In this cognitive stimulation worksheet to improve gnosis, patients must identify the designated color from among the displayed colors. This is a paper-based activity developed by NeuronUP that therapists can carry out in groups by following these steps:
- First, place the colored cards on a board.
- Next, patients must sit down while avoiding distracting environmental stimuli.
- Taking turns, patients get up and remove all the cards of the same color. In the example below, patients must remove all of the purple cards.

Recognizing Facial Parts
This activity is intended to improve body schema that is, the ability to recognize and mentally perceive the body as a whole entity along with its various parts, the movements that can be performed with each body part, and the orientation and position of the body in space.
In this activity, patients try to recognize facial features in a collage. For example, the image below is a composite of three different faces and patients must determine which part belongs to which face.
